In 2011, I was one of 30 westerners invited to participate in the bi-annual Lishui Photography Festival in the Zhejiang province of the People's Republic of China. The festival curators hosted our group to exchange and share photography concepts with the Chinese and other international collaborators. I met a local Chinese woman in our hotel lobby and went "off the grid" with her to explore the surrounding area. We ended up in small villages, sacred places, and the countryside where dinosaurs once roamed. These images represent the time spent with this generous stranger in China.
