The NES artist in residency sits on the north coast of Iceland in the remote village of Skagaströnd. The small community of about 400 inhabitants nestles between the Spákonufell mountain and the Húnaflói Bay. Although seemingly cut off from the outside world, they thrive in their surrounding environment and hold reverence for the natural elements. I attended the NES residency during October, where the colors have turned to golden yellows and brown, and the winds set in as a reminder of the coming winter. This series reflects the beauty of Skagaströnd and other wanderings during the fall season in Iceland.
