The Vapor Series is a part of a larger body of ongoing work in Finland to explore the presence of organic elements and their symbolic relationship to the spirituality and depth of the culture. These images capture Lake Päijänne during the eve of the midsummer “Juhannus” celebration. Midsummer celebrations include bonfires and magic spells, with deep roots planted in ancient Nordic Pre-Christian traditions.
